MINECRAFT DUNGEONS REVIEW: RPG STARTER KIT
Minecraft Dungeons play has been a truly riveting experience. The combat is fun and diverse, the locales and missions offer different terrain and enemies to encounter, there is a ludicrous amount of loot to collect, there are secret dungeons/levels, and the ability to seamlessly couch coop makes this a perfect game to play with family or friends. In fact, the aesthetic of the game, easy to pick up controls and interface, and charming world make it one of the very best ways possible to introduce someone new to RPGS. This genre ranges in complexity from very streamlined interactions, inventory management, quests, etc. to some truly nitty gritty and overwhelming experiences that require a firm understanding of RPG ideas and mechanisms. With Minecraft Dungeons being so simple in it approach, without sacrificing any of the fun factor at all, it’s definitely one I recommend to those new to the RPG genre. As a longtime RPG fan, I feel that Dungeons is a very welcome addition to the genre. The fact that the art style and story make it “tame” enough for whole families to enjoy, just further adds to the enjoyability. Microsoft has truly found a gem here.
