OPENING NIGHT LIVE GAMESCOM

     Geoff Keighley hosted Opening Night Live at Gamescom. The event was a fun celebration of the video game industry, and was jam-packed with game reveals and trailers, with a few award presentations, as well. The show was well paced, not seeming to dwell too long in any given area. Geoff started the show with the long-anticipated Gears 5 Campaign trailer, and concluded the show with a long segment devoted to Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding. Along with the impressive story trailer, Gears 5 also showcased more details about its Horde Mode. Both Hideo Kojima (a good friend of host Geoff), and actor Norman Reedus (main character in Death Stranding) appeared on stage to reveal new characters for the game, along with a significant showcase of gameplay.
