DELIVER US THE MOON REVIEW

DELIVER US THE MOON REVIEW

Deliver Us the Moon is just another great example of the diversity in Xbox Gamepass. ID@Xbox has done a splendid job of identifying promising Indie studios and giving them the resources and platform to get much deserved recognition. In Deliver, players assume the role of an astronaut sent to the Moon in hopes of restoring the resource supply chain at the base there. At the station, various investigative work, puzzles, etc. await as full functionality of the station must be restored. In this near future setting, Earth is on the brink of total decay, as it has been completely stripped of resources, and has made the planet nearly unhabitable. A multi-national coalition established a base on the moon to harvest resources and funnel them back to Earth. But, after a sustained period of success, the station has gone dark, and Earth is in dire straits. You must get to the moon and deliver its resources, or humanity is lost.

Deliver is another brilliant example of the popular “walking sim” genre, where combat doesn’t exist, and players must explore their surroundings deliberately, and uncover the secrets needed to solve puzzles, and events. The visuals are quite breathtaking, as space is rendered as a beautiful, silent vista in comparison to the barren wasteland of Earth. Puzzles are thoughtful and require due diligence, and the story is well crafted and definitely rewards players efforts in digging for more information, (backstory is very eye-opening). If you enjoy games like Edith Finch, Gone Home, Tacoma, etc. then you should definitely give Deliver a try.
