UBISOFT E3 RECAP

     Ubisoft had an interesting press conference. They had several new games to announce, and showed some more gameplay and features coming to several already established games as well. A big part of their E3 briefing was the unveiling of their own subscription service, Uplay+, which will launch this September for $15 a month. Subscription based avenues for players has become all the rage in the industry this year.

WATCH DOGS LEGION

     Unfortunately for Ubisoft, their new game, Watch Dogs Legion, was leaked online a few days before their E3 briefing. Watch Dogs Legion is set in London and takes the gameplay and style of Watchdogs series up a notch. In this game, all NPCs are actually playable characters, giving the player access to all sorts of different abilities and professions. Release date is March 6th, 2020.

OTHER NEW GAMES

     Ubisoft also revealed & discussed several other new games, including: Roller Champions, Gods & Monsters, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad (a mobile game), Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Just Dance 2020. Roller Champions is a new rollerblading game coming in 2020. Gods & Monsters is Ubisoft’s game inspired by Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with a February 25th, 2020 release date for this fantasy action-RPG. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, which launches October 4th, is the next entry in the popular tactical squad combat series. Elite Squad is a tactical mashup for mobile devices, and has unique art-style for this type of game, looking cartoonish, yet, semi realistic. Rainbow Six Quarantine is a new, 3 player coop PvE game coming sometime in 2020. Just Dance 2020 is the latest release in the dancing series, and will be releasing in November of this year.

GAME UPDATES

     Concerning already established games, Ubisoft announced additional content coming to several titles. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, the award winning, and humongous open world action RPG will be receiving player created missions, which is available now, and a discovery mode for later this year. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 will be receiving its third episode of DLC content in early 2020. Lastly, For Honor has a new event: Shadows of the Hitokiri, introducing a temporary new mode, Soul Rush, available only from June 10th, to June 27th.
